MCI Crusader 1974
Shake hands with Webby, Vicky and Reggie Dabus (the bus). This nomadic couple have been terrorising roundabouts since mid 2016. They picked up Reggie, a 1974 MCI Crusader, already converted. This monster is a true open plan one bedder on wheels complete with shower, toilet, aircon and outdoor living space.
Tour guide, caravan park manager, front desk agent, maintenance, …. These are just some of the ways Vicky and Webby make money on the road. Living this way let’s them see the big wide country of Australia and gives them the freedom to do it comfortably!
Home, sweet home! All 40ft (12.5m) of it!
Reggie is decked out with 440L of drinking water, W of solar panels, batteries totalling Ah, black water tank, generator, and so much more. The storage space is enormous and when the two awnings are out, alfresco living is at another level!
Where did you buy your bus?
The bloke we bought it from, bought it as a retired school bus and then went into fully fitting it out. We ended up with a new motor, new gear box, new brakes, new airbags. You named it, and it’s been done!
After scouring all over Victoria, Ben and Caroline finally found the 84 Express. With 12V running throughout the bus, they have now been living off grid for over 18 months with their two daughters, and have managed to maintain a successful online business.
