Going to different places, seeing new things and exploring unfamiliar areas were only some of the reasons the Tripping Gypsies noted when asked “why live in a bus?”.The Tripping Gypsies
- 2 boys
- 1 dog
- 1 snake
This lifestyle also works perfect for their boys, as they are able to wake up somewhere new and have something new to learn everywhere they go!
Home school for this bus life family makes sense when living like a nomad around Australia.
12 tonnes of love – Marji’s 400kg engine has been rebuilt twice by Trip and Jay! Now she’s a beast that comfortably cruises at 100km per hour. 360L of fresh water tanks (with filtered drinking water), 400W solar panels power their 480 Ah battery bank, which in turns keeps a house size fridge and freezer running with no problems.
A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS
What got you into bus life in the first place?
Trip went on a little weekend away with someone who lived in a bus and loved it! He loved it so much, that the next week we bought a bus. That’s how quick it was for us!
How long did it take you to jump into the bus?
We left the house we were living after 7 or 8 months (of owning the bus). Everything we thought we’d need was on the bus. We didn’t have electricity, no light or fridge… but we survived!
